A few exciting things going on in my corner.
I've got about 5 weeks left of this semester and 6 more credit hours to get before I'm a senior at the university...not that this means anything since I'm only a 4th semester student by the engineering school's standards, but it sounds good, right?.
I begin the first of three Co-op semesters in the Spring which I am so excited about because I need a short break from school or it's possible that my brain will simply cease functioning. It was an intense few weeks of interviews and I'm still getting requests, but I finally accepted an offer from a refinery in Illinois. This place is gigantic, and it's a wonderful opportunity to learn classical chemical engineering. I was a little worried about finding housing in the district because, well, it's a tiny town in the middle of a lot of corn fields. not exactly my style. lol. Luckily, the company owns a house there that I'll be renting; I finally get my own place...no more sharing a tiny dormroom!
I am demanding frequent visits from my friends back in Louisville because this place is not a college town so I imagine the number of people my age shall be sorely small. It'll be a grand adventure, I suppose, to go pack up everything and move to a town of 6,000, but work will keep me busy ehough, i'm sure. Whatever happens, it feels good to have moved on from my illustrious stint in retail to something that's moving my career forward and in a direction that interests me.
I recently was commissioned to paint a portrait for a someone's friends' christmas present. I haven't painted in so long and I know that I don't have the time to take on something like this, but an old friend made the request. I'll be giving it a trial period and if I can't handle it, it'll be outsourced to kdavis38 though she doesn't know it yet

thanks, kate.
That's pretty much it from over here except that Nov 12 is rapidly approaching and I'll finally be able to remove "teen" from my age.
ok I'm off here to start my daily hours at the calculator doing energy balances. Ciao!
